Mrs. Jones is entering her seventh year in education. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Texas Woman's University and her Master's degree in Professional School Counseling from Angelo State University. She completed her Practicum in School Counseling at MISD and is excited to be back in the district, serving students and families at Faubion Middle School.

Born and raised in Collin County, Mrs. Jones has planted strong roots here. Her first teaching job was at a neighboring school district where she coached Volleyball and Track. Mrs. Jones took a few years off to stay home with her kids until they started school. However, during that time she continued to volunteer at various local organizations that allowed her to impact the lives of kids.

Mrs. Jones spent three years as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA). During her time with CASA, Mrs. Jones collaborated with various entities to advocate for the best interest of each child she represented. This unique experience taught her the importance of addressing the whole-child and working with a team of professionals to provide systems of support to help kids succeed.

In the future, Mrs. Jones looks forward to returning to school and earning her licensure in professional counseling (LPC). She believes that by continuing her education it will allow her to stay up to date on the newest skills and practices in the counseling field, so she can provide the highest level of service to the students and families at Faubion Middle School. Mrs. Jones said, "I love the counseling profession, because each day brings something new. My goal is to constantly be learning and refining my craft, so I can meet the needs of each student that walks into my office or provide a resource where they can get the support they need."

Mrs. Jones lives in McKinney with her husband and three kids. When she has free time, Mrs. Jones enjoys watching her kids do what they love, spending time outdoors, and traveling to the mountains as often as she can.

Although Mr. Rodriguez is not fluent in the Spanish language, he is currently working to become proficient in order to better serve the bilingual community.

Mr. Rodriguez began his teaching career in Plano ISD having served as a middle school orchestra director for 8 years. Prior to becoming a school counselor, Mr. Rodriguez served as the orchestra director in Frisco ISD at Vandeventer Middle School for 4 years. Mr. Rodriguez still loves music and will continue to teach and adjudicate for local school music programs, as well as perform gigs with local string ensembles. Mr. Rodriguez enjoys widening his skills by attending various workshops, conferences, seminars and specialization courses in order to stay current with counseling practices. His focus has been on working with adolescents and marginalized individuals, stating “our youth and minority population are among the most vulnerable individuals in our community. Counselors, educators and community helpers can have a lifelong impact on students' overall well-being and success.”

When asked about starting his school counseling career in McKinney ISD, Mr. Rodriguez states, “I am thrilled to take on the role of Faubion’s third school counselor and be a part of shaping the minds and lives of our youth. The diversity of Faubion creates a glimpse of our global population unlike any other campus I have worked in. Students at Faubion are fortunate to have staff and administrators who not only care deeply about students’ academic success, but their personal-social development as well. I am honored to step in and nurture this growth every single day!”
